Abstract

In the history of Kazakh literature, analyzing a writer's works in terms of their thematic, content-based, ideological, and literary-aesthetic aspects and introducing them into literary and scholarly discourse remains an ever-relevant issue in literary studies. Therefore, the study of the riddling poems of Aset Naimanbayuly, a prominent representative of Abai's poetic school, who holds a significant place in literary history with his enduring poems, dedications, poetic debates, and epic narratives, helps to further reveal the genre-specific aspects of Kazakh poetry.

This scholarly article examines and analyzes the riddling poems of poet Aset Naimanbayuly, who lived during the transitional period between the 19th and early 20th centuries. The textological issues of the poet's works, their poetic patterns, folk characteristics, and cognitive-educational role are identified and assessed. The article also compares Aset's poetic contributions to those of his contemporaries, highlighting how he used both traditional and new poetic genres to comprehensively address and depict the socio-political issues of his time.
